Terms & Conditions
Last update: August 2026
These terms govern your use of this website. By using it, you accept them. If you do not, please stop using the site.
1. Who runs this site
Susana Gomes, trading as Sugo & Co, an independent strategic marketing and communication consultancy.
- Based in Portugal
- Email: hello@sugoand.co
Throughout these terms, "I", "me" and "my" mean the above. "You" means anyone using the site.
2. What this site is
This site presents my work, my services and my writing. It is an introduction, not a transaction.
It does not sell anything, take payments, or give you an account. Nothing on it is a binding offer — an enquiry starts a conversation, and any work is agreed separately in writing.
3. Everything here is mine
The content on this site — text, essays, frameworks, methods, images, design and structure — belongs to me, unless credited otherwise. It is protected by copyright and by Portuguese and EU intellectual property law.
You may: read it, quote short passages with clear attribution and a link back, and share links to it freely.
You may not: copy, reproduce or republish substantial parts of it; present my frameworks or methods as your own; use it to build a competing offer; or use any of it to train an artificial intelligence model or system, whether commercial or not, without my written permission.
The name Sugo & Co, the name CEO by the Sea, and any associated marks are mine. Nothing here gives you a licence to use them.
If you want to use something and are not sure whether you may, write to me. The answer is often yes.
4. What the content is, and what it is not
What I publish here reflects my professional judgement and experience. It is general in nature and written without knowledge of your business.
It is not consulting advice, and it is not legal, financial or regulatory advice. Reading it does not make you a client, and no client relationship exists until we have agreed terms in writing.
I take care to be accurate, but I make no guarantee that everything here is complete, current or right for your situation. Decisions you take after reading are your own.
5. Getting in touch
When you contact me, you agree to give accurate information and not to send anything unlawful, abusive or misleading.
An enquiry places no obligation on either of us. I may decline work for any reason, and I often do — capacity, fit, or because I am not the right person for the problem.
How I handle what you send me is set out in the Privacy Policy.
6. Services and paid work
Any service I deliver — advisory, consulting, workshops or otherwise — is governed by a separate written agreement or proposal, agreed before the work begins. That agreement sets the scope, the fees, the timings, the payment terms and the cancellation terms.
Where those terms and these terms differ, the written agreement wins.
Where a service is booked or paid for through this site, the terms shown at the point of booking apply in addition to these. Consumers within the EU have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days, except where a service is completed within that period at your express request.
7. Third-party links
This site links to other places — LinkedIn, Substack, and occasionally the work of people I rate.
I do not control those sites and I am not responsible for their content, their terms or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the other side of it.
8. Availability
I
aim to keep the site up and working, but I do not guarantee uninterrupted access. It may be unavailable for maintenance, for technical reasons, or for reasons outside my control.
I may change, move or remove any part of it at any time without notice.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Portuguese law.
Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of data arising from your use of this site or from reliance on anything published on it.
Nothing here affects the statutory rights of consumers.
10. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms. The current version always lives on this page with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Any dispute falls to the courts of Portugal.
If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protections of the mandatory rules of your own country, and you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
